I Can't Live Without You...Is This For Real?

"I can't live without you" is a statement of addictive dependency. It implies dependency on another person other than God to sustain your life. Though people who talk like this may do it trying to get the other person to love them back and feel sorry for them but the latter is what it will be. Of course they might feel sorry for you and stay with you but that's all it will be because true love doesn't thrive on pity.

Another statement in error is "You complete me" this is another false statement that implies lack of confidence in your self and also you have a void which you think someone should fill. No one should complete you, if you are not complete, you shouldn't get married in the first place. Singleness implies completeness, wholeness, uniqueness etc. You must first be single and stand out before you can be married. You don't have to be perfect to be complete, you just have to know and trust in the perfect God, and then have a perfect vision of your life's purpose from Him.

Most people who talk like this do so out of ignorance of what it truly means; When people say this they are indirectly telling you they have issues with themselves which they don't want to accept responsibility for, but blame it on other external factors. This kind of guys or ladies will never change until they accept full responsibility for their shortcomings and begin to work on it. Attaching yourself to them puts you in a dangerous position as you will end up discovering other hidden faults in their life which you never saw while in relationship with them and probably can't live with but by then it is too late.

A high level of transparency in any relationship implies a high level of love for each other and vice versa. When someone opens up everything to you in a relationship, it means such person cares so much for you and doesn't want you to suffer the pain of discovering something you wouldn't like after you are married to them. Such a person deserves your love. Be wise in your choices.

Have a fruitful
day!
