RESPECT IN PERSPECTIVE

This ingredient is something that we all need in our lives and can only have more of, when we can give more if it. People tend to want people to respect them but never give it to people. In every relationship respect is defined as a feeling of differential regard or admiration for someone. I believe everyone will need to hear this; respect is not one sided. some people think that once they are ahead of you, you are now to respect them and then if you don't they get angry and react.

Here are some things you must know about respect;

 1.It should be given both ways: There is a saying that "respect is reciprocal" it has to be from boss to staff, from husband to wife, parents to their children, older child to younger child, senior staff to junior staff and vice versa.

2. It is not to be demanded but to be earned: people wont respect you just because you are their boss or you are senior to them, rather they will respect you because you respect yourself and others as well. These days, old men loose their respects to young girls because they want to satisfy their selfish longings. Every time you act for your own selfish reasons, you loose respect.

3.It is best shown in your heart or where the object of respect cannot see: Some people put up a respectful front when they see you, they can even bow the ground for you but once you turn your back, they start to destroy you with their mouth and even in their heart while you are there.

4. It cannot be bought with money: Some people think they can behave anyhow they like because they have money and people will still respect them. no way! it doesn't work like that. people will only respect your money and not you, when you get broke, they run away from you,

5. It is a currency of its own: I heard a story about the great Nelson Mandela who sacrificed a great part of his life for the freedom of his people and earned the respect of every nation of the world. He needed some money to begin an NGO and all he did was go to BMW manufacturing company. He didn't have to ask twice, they branded his name on their latest product for that year, and struck a deal with him that for every of that particular product they sold, half of the amount goes to his NGO, and just because his name was on the car, though the price of that car was higher than usual, they sold more than they have ever sold with any of their cars. Till date, his family still gets paid by BMW company.

In conclusion, make a firm decision today to respect yourself and others as well and never to act to satisfy yourself alone neglecting God and your fellow humans. If you can do this today, you will earn the respect of people and that of God as well.
